Scrutiny attached to revenue

A customer just made security part of the deal.

A security questionnaire, a vendor review, a security addendum in the contract—however it arrived, a customer has tied your security posture to their purchase decision.

Context behind the pressure

Sales wants answers this week. IT can answer some questions, cannot answer others, and is not sure which honest answers put the deal at risk. This page is about the decision under the paperwork.

Customer Trust Sprint

Bring one active questionnaire or customer security review. Ackatec helps your team verify the answers, identify the gaps that matter, choose careful commitment language, and assign the follow-through.

Tell us about the review
  1. 01

    Scope

Confirm the review, deal context, due date, systems involved, and the people who can support the answers.

  2. 02

    Verify

Separate supportable answers from assumptions and record the evidence, exceptions, and material gaps behind them.

  3. 03

    Decide

Agree what to answer now, what to commit to with a date, and who owns the work after the response is submitted.

Before we beginBefore work begins, we confirm the review, the people who need to be involved, what is included, the timing, and the fee.

You are likely here if

The pressure is specific. The answer is not yet.

  1. 01

The questionnaire is sitting with IT, but the deal is sitting with you—and nobody has decided who signs off on the answers.

  2. 02

Some answers are “no” or “not yet,” and no one can say whether those answers are deal-threatening or routine.

  3. 03

This is the second or third questionnaire this year, and each one is being answered from scratch.

The decision on the table

Name the decision before choosing the deliverable. It keeps the work tied to the business question that created the pressure.

Three calls, in order: what you can truthfully answer today; what you are prepared to commit to, with a date; and whether this questionnaire is a one-off or the new shape of how your market buys. The third call determines whether the response is a scramble or the start of a program. An inflated answer becomes a contractual representation.

Ackatec’s working view

A position before a proposal.

  1. 01

    Ownership is the real question.

A questionnaire is a test of ownership disguised as a test of controls. A gap with an owner and a date is more defensible than an answer no one can support.

  2. 02

Overstated answers are the expensive ones.

A “yes” you cannot support becomes a representation in a contract, then a notification problem, then a renewal problem. “Not yet, owned, scheduled” is a stronger answer than an unsupported “yes.”

  3. 03

The third questionnaire should cost days, not weeks.

If security review keeps arriving with deals, the practical path is a maintained, evidence-backed answer set with named owners behind it.

Working structure

  1. 01

    Deal context

What the customer buys, what data or access is involved, and what the review is actually screening for.

  2. 02

    Answer inventory

What can be answered truthfully today, with the evidence behind each answer.

  3. 03

    Gap register

Every “no” or “partial,” rated for deal risk, each with an owner and a defensible remediation date.

  4. 04

    Commitment language

What to put in writing—and what not to—so the answers stay accurate after signature.

  5. 05

    Repeat-pressure read

Whether this review is an outlier or a pattern, and what a standing answer set would take to maintain.

Built in the first working sessions, then owned by your team. Ackatec does not answer questionnaires for you; it makes your answers defensible.
